Five Minute Focus on: Adrian Wall, ReganWall
Tell us about yourself ?
I am a corporate lawyer and I have been practising now for almost 25 years between time spent in Dublin, Sydney and Cork. I am married to Susan (who reminds me from time to time that she has three third level degrees and I only have one!) and I live on the outskirts of Cork city with Susan, eighteen year-old twins (Etain and Aaron) and a younger daughter (Pia). The years are flying by – this came home to me recently when I went to take a beer out of the fridge and I heard – “Dad, that’s mine” …
Tell us about ReganWall?
ReganWall is a boutique corporate law firm. We are just over one year old. Kieran Regan and I set up the firm to address what we see as a significant gap in the market for corporate legal services. Most of us have worked in larger law firms and the focus is on providing a high quality corporate service to business owners and managers – essentially providing access to high-level expertise which is responsive and reasonably-priced.
What is your role in the company?
I am the managing partner.
Tell us something about ReganWall that we may not know?
We are the only boutique corporate law firm based outside of Dublin. We provide services to clients all around Ireland from our base in Cork.
What’s next for your business in Cork?
We have had a fantastic 2019 so far. We handled one of Ireland’s largest private company M&A transactions, which closed in recent weeks. After almost doubling our staff numbers already in 2019, we also have two new lawyers joining us in the coming months. We are very excited about the future growth and prospects for the greater Cork region. We are committed to growing our firm in Cork and we are investing significantly to support that growth.
What’s your favourite thing about working in Cork?
After having spent the summer in Dungarvan (I commute from Dungarvan during the summer), everyone is getting back into the autumn routine in Cork.
What I like most about working in Cork is the easy connectivity with clients, other business people and other advisers. When I leave my office in the evening or at lunchtime I invariably bump into people around town. It is great for informal chats.
What do you like about being a Glandore Member?
We really enjoy the ease with which we can interact with other members. We bump into other members on a casual basis all the time. It has also been excellent in terms of bringing in clients and visitors who really like the space and often chat and interact not just with us but also with other Glandore members.
Friday nights in or Friday night out?
I’m a Saturday morning cyclist so that tends to keep me on the straight and narrow on a Friday night! I don’t usually get home till 7pm or afterwards but more often than not I’ll have a glass or two of red wine to unwind after a busy week. Things don’t always go to plan though and I probably end up being out more often than I should be!
