Leading Irish flexible workspace company Glandore, launches its national green initiative ahead of Earth Day 2019. An annual event celebrated on April 22, Earth Day is promoted through events worldwide to demonstrate support for environmental protection.
A family business established in 2001, Glandore offers flexible workspace, private offices, coworking and event spaces across its nine locations in Dublin, Cork and Belfast.
Glandore is keen on working towards a greener environment, using 100 per cent renewable energy across their locations in Ireland. It has also expanded the recycling and composting facilities across its nine locations, with the aim of reducing the contamination of recyclables and waste overall.
The Glandore Green initiative, led by an internal ‘Green Team’, has its sights set on making Glandore the most sustainable and green flexible workspace provider in Ireland. Glandore has also declared its newest office space location in Cork City as its first plastic-free, flexible office space in Ireland. Removing all disposable plastic items on-site, Glandore has replaced plastic branded water bottles with glass, providing reusable amenities throughout the office and has worked with all suppliers to ensure deliveries are plastic-free and that other packaging coming on-site is reduced.
Speaking about the initiative, Glandore Director, Clare Kelly said, “Coworking and flexible workspace by their very definition is green. It’s not just a sharing of ideas but of space, heat, light and other resources. Applying techniques such as smart light sensors and solar panels, Glandore is Ireland’s first flexible and coworking provider in the Republic of Ireland to state their commitment to using 100 per cent renewable energy.”
“Seeing the effects of plastic waste on our oceans, in opening an office in a harbour city like Cork which overlooks the River Lee, moving toward a plastic-free office was hugely important to us. We look forward to extending this ban on plastic within our offices across our nine locations in Ireland throughout 2019.”
“Often companies and individuals believe recycling is enough but as an organisation, we believe it’s important to take it a step further. Naturally we want to increase recycling rates, but the priority is to reduce waste entirely.”
Glandore is committed to seeking positive change in the communities where we live, work and do business. The family-run business embraces the opportunity and responsibility to increase green initiatives within the business, staff, members and the wider community.
Glandore is an Irish, family business committed to providing a more sustainable workplace. In the Republic of Ireland, we use 100% renewable energy in our seven locations across Dublin and Cork. We care deeply about the professional growth and development of every company we house.
