Tell us about Wish
Wish is a mobile e-commerce platform that connects hundreds of millions of consumers with the widest selection of products delivered directly to their doors. Our mission is to provide everyone access to the most affordable and convenient shopping experience on the planet. Wish supports 500,000 merchant partners as well as over 300 million users who rate Wish the best mobile shopping app on the iOS and Android platforms.
What’s your role in Wish?
I took on the challenge of setting up European Operations for Wish in September, and we have managed to grow the team to almost 20 people already. Wish Dublin operations team is made up from amazing people from 10 different countries!
Tell us something about Wish we may not know
We are the sixth largest ecommerce company in the world, and the #1 downloaded App in many countries, yet nobody has heard of us! (Check out the charts in the Play Store and App Store)
What’s next for Wish?
Wish Dublin operations will continue to expand to support our customer and merchant base across the globe. We represent so many customers, across so many cultures, and we will continue to bring invaluable market feedback to our product teams, driving innovation across our platform.
Share your tips on how to create a great company culture
Hiring people with a really good work ethic, and can-do attitude is the first step. We have a phenomenally diverse set of cultures and nationalities in our team already, so uniting everybody around a clear goal is important to ensure all our energies and talents push in the same direction. Their respect for each other has been amazing and is leading to some great examples of sharing ideas across our teams.
What do you like about being a Glandore Member?
Flexibility – as we scale it is critical that we have a partner that can provide us with office space that allows us to grow our team while maintaining the office atmosphere. By having a cooperative business partner who is thinking strategically and making proactive suggestions is invaluable. Hats off to Jessica for her phenomenal partnership.
What do you like about living and working in Dublin?
I get to work near where I was born, grew up, went to college and spent most of my working career, yet I have the opportunity to work with such a diverse, multi-cultural team. I admire every one of my team who have moved country or continent to build their careers and become part of the Wish story. Dublin has become the central hub for international operations for every reputable company who is building a global footprint, and Wish is adding to that story.
