Tell us about yourself
My name is Jason Spain and I am 38 years young. I have been in the telco and retail industry for about 16 years with the last two in my present role
Tell us about Nova Telecom
Nova Telecom are a telecommunications company supplying internet, voice and data solutions to the enterprise and SME sector. We deliver DIA with bandwidths of up to 10Gbps available, delivered over optical fibre or microwave.
What is your role in Nova Telecom?
I manage our B2B route to market generating new business and service also our existing client portfolio.
Tell us something about Nova Telecom we may not know
Nova Telecom is entirely Irish owned, founded by Cork’s own Dave McDonald back in 2004
What’s next for Nova Telecom?
Nova Telecom have recently expanded with a POP now in Dublin which we are very happy to announce. We have committed to investing €1m in to our MPLS network where it is currently being deployed in a few data centres within the city and we are connecting with other providers to make that happen
What do you think is the future of work?
A huge increase in home-working will take place, with traffic and office rent being big problems already. Quality of life improvements will become more important to people, therefore the ability to work anywhere will give progressive employers an edge in attracting and retaining staff. The expansion of the “gig economy” will continue, where people can use their skills online no matter where they are, to earn a living.
What do you like about being a Glandore Member?
We came to Glandore simply looking for some office space and were pleasantly surprised to see how much support we have received to date. It has been exceptionally helpful in breaking into the Dublin market
What do you like about working in Dublin?
I currently commute to Dublin a couple of days a week from my home in Tipperary. It’s a really central location to take me in any direction really, and I love living there, but I do enjoy the pace of the city and the energy it gives me. The constant activity of buying and selling is quite an addictive setting to be a part of.
Friday nights in or Friday nights out?
Definitely in with my family with a relaxing gin and tonic and maybe a cuddle with my two poodles.
