Five Minute Focus On: Kevin Lewis, Gravity

Tell us about Gravity

We are a team of software engineers with a design driven focus that allows us to deliver custom mobile apps & Software Platforms for Public and Private Organisations. We have an office in London although our development team work mostly in our Belfast office.  We work on web platforms combined with iOS, Android and Windows UWP applications across multiple sectors including Healthcare, Industry, Oil and Gas, Manufacturing, Education and Tourism.

What’s your role in the company?

I am the owner and managing director so look after client accounts and sometimes even dabble in a bit of computer coding from time to time.  I am responsible for ensuring the quality of our service matches customer expectations.

Tell us something about your company we didn’t know

Our software is installed globally in the far reaches of Kazhastan, the Middle East, Australia and the USA.

What’s next for Gravity?

Our portfolio of projects involves constantly evolving technologies with IoT, voice activation and machine learning coming to the fore in the past year so we always have to evolve with new technologies. We also plan to increase our expansion into the UK this year with our software services and soon to be completed Software products.

What’s your favourite thing about working in Belfast?

We were based on the outskirts of Belfast for many years and have only recently moved into the centre.  We really like having so many restaurants and coffee shops so close to where we work. The central location of the office suits our team and being able to run errands during the day is great. Not only is it more accessible for our team, and clients, the location affords plenty of opportunities for either work lunches, or team nights out.

Friday nights in or Friday nights out?

Both. Our team is made up from a variety of age groups so a mix of big nights out, quiet nights in and even all night gaming could be the norm.
