Glandore partner with Going for Growth’s Starting Strong programme
Glandore has recently partnered with the Enterprise Ireland supported Going for Growth Starting Strong programme.
This programme is aimed at female entrepreneurs who are at the early stages of their business development. It seeks to provide support, advice and peer support to female led businesses.
The business will typically be in the early revenue or pre-revenue stage, but will have moved well beyond the concept stage. Starting Strong is aimed at exceptional female entrepreneurs, whose length of pre- revenue development, degree of innovation and growth potential are all significantly greater than the norm.
Through our partnership, Glandore will be supporting Starting Strong participants as they embark on a specially tailored programme and several relevant topic based workshops.
The Starting Strong initiative is part of the Going for Growth programme, and was founded by Paula Fitzsimons in 2007 to help women become more ambitious and successful when starting a business. She came to the realisation women needed help in this area after discovering, since the year 2000 each month 1,000 women set up businesses but only a small number were successful.
Here at Glandore, we recognise the need for more female-led businesses and for female entrepreneurs to receive more support.
At our recent Hear from Her event Susan Spence, one of the lead entrepreneurs with Starting Strong, spoke about the lack of female entrepreneurs and the problems they face. We learned that confidence is one of the key areas where women can support each other. This is something we hope to achieve through our work with Starting Strong.
