Five Minute Focus On: David Butler, Managing Director – Spot Recruitment
We are always keen to get to know our Glandore Members and their teams better. We recently caught up with David Butler from our Glandore Dublin Members Spot Recruitment to find out more about them.
Tell us about yourself
A 29 year old Roscommon native with interests in Sport, Travel and Food. I previously worked in a law firm before transitioning to the world of Recruitment.
Tell us about Spot Recruitment
We are a Dublin based recruitment business servicing clients in Dublin, Galway and Limerick. Our core focus is on securing positions for finance professionals in the financial and professional services industry. We launched in November 2019 and we are thoroughly enjoying the journey to date!
What’s your role in the Company?
I am Managing Director and run the company with my business partner Cillian.
What’s next for Spot Recruitment?
We are hoping to hire in the next couple of months and build on our existing relationships.
Tell us something about yourself/ Spot Recruitment we might not know?
Toner’s used to be a successful networking arena for some of our members on the team.
What’s your favourite thing about working in Dublin?
Sense of community and genuine goodwill from other businesses/leaders in the city towards early-stage businesses like Spot.
What do you like about being a Glandore Member?
Everyone at Glandore has been very supportive to us and I can’t speak highly enough of Riz and the team. Henry has also kindly promised us a night or two in Suesey Street when normality resumes!
Friday night in or Friday nights out?
A healthy balance of both.
When a “New Normal” returns, what are you most looking forward to?
Being able to travel home (to Roscommon) and visiting my nephew in Oz when international travel resumes. From a Spot standpoint, we can’t wait to meet clients, candidates and catch up over lunch and coffee without a computer screen in sight!
