Five Minute Focus On: Carlotta Guizzardo, Yroo
Current Glandore Dublin Members, Yroo, recently announced that it will grow its Irish base creating 33 jobs over the next 3 years, so it seems only fitting that they feature in this month’s Five Minute Focus On. We caught up with Carlotta Guizzardo, Affiliate Advertising Strategist at Yroo, for a chat about all things online shopping, food, Fridays and what’s next for this fantastic Canadian founded company.
Tell us about Yroo
Yroo is the world’s most powerful search engine dedicated to helping people shop smarter. We do this by enabling shoppers to discover, research and buy from the largest collection of products, stores, and promotions available anywhere.
We want you to quickly and easily be able to search products, merchants and promotions, with all your favorite stores all in one place. We let you know if any of your favorite stores have new promotions going on or if one of your favorite items has dropped in price.
We have just joined 1% for the Planet and have pledged to donate 1% of our revenues to sustainability organizations. By joining 1% they make sure that all the organizations that receive our funding are legitimate.
What’s your role in Yroo?
I am an Affiliate Advertising Strategist. I focus on building, nurturing and maintaining affiliate relationships as well as initiating leads and insights to potential affiliate growth, program enhancements and participation in premium placement programs. I am also always on the look out for up and coming brands and merchants that could fit our website.
Tell us something about Yroo we might not know
Yroo got its name because it was the cheapest 4 letter URL available at the time. Ahhh the life of a start-up!
What’s next for Yroo?
Currently, Yroo is looking to improve its proprietary technology to help customers shop even smarter. We can’t say much more about that… shhhh. We are also always looking to add great stores/products to our site; so if you know of any or want your products to be on Yroo we can look into how we can make that happen!
What’s your favourite thing about working in Dublin?
Dublin is a small busy city to live in. The size allows you to have a good work/life balance because commuting is never too much of an issue and there is always something to do. Also I love that you can walk everywhere and if you need to take a break outside the city, you can reach the country side in 15 minutes in the car. You don’t get that very often in a capital city!
What do you like about being a Glandore Member?
First of all the fact that we are considered Members is already a great plus. To feel part of a micro community rather than just tenants is refreshing. Also, Glandore events are great opportunities to meet everyone and enjoy this community.
Friday nights in or Friday nights out?
Out! I love to wrap up the week with a glass of wine and a chat. I usually go down to Suesey Street, the heated lounge is perfect for chilling out and if then you feel hungry you can pick anything from the menu to get some cracking good food as well.
What is your favourite restaurant in Dublin?
As an Italian call me biased but I naturally love good Italian food and Il Vicoletto is my favourite. It’s a cosy place just off Dame Street and their food is just as authentic as it can get in Dublin.
