If you are taking on Dry January, there is no need to sit in like a hermit for the whole month of January just to avoid being around alcohol. There is a world of amazing things to do that don’t involve alcohol and you only need a little bit of inspiration to make great plans with friends this weekend. Here is our take on 5 booze free things to do this month.

Scope out a Music or Comedy Gig

See if any of your favourite bands are in town or scope out some free gigs. There are so many amazing venues that play live jazz or other genres of live music. There is so much talent to be heard and all easily accessible. Doyles pub runs a weekly event called ‘Ruby Sessions’ where a mix of Irish artists share their music in an intimate setting and donate the proceeds to The Simon Community. The Laughter Lounge is also a great shout. They have different themes on every Thursday, Friday and Saturday including Best of Irish where they pick their favourite Irish comedians and pop them into one epic show!

Get a truly unique cinema experience with cosy seats and table service in the beautifully restored Stella Theatre. This is truly an iconic cinematic landmark in central Dublin.
