Your autumn 2017 networking guide – Dublin and Belfast

We’ve picked some networking events taking place in the next few months in both Dublin and Belfast that cater for professionals looking to network with like-minded individuals.

Belfast Events

1. High trust Networking with Sean Weafer

This free event takes place in Island Hall in Lisburn just outside Belfast on the 28th September. Sean Weafer is a best selling business author and international speaker. He will explain 7 key concepts to attracting and retaining high value clients as well as some networking tips to ensure business growth.

2. Principles of Successful Persuasion

This event is being hosted by Women in Business and takes place on the 19th of October in Stormont Hotel, Belfast. The event covers the skills needed to influence people in strategically important situations. These skills are necessary to achieve both personal and career goals. This event is being led by Mark Garrett Hayes who has delivered sales and leadership training to some of the biggest brands both nationally and internationally.

3. Belfast Business Network Group

Belfast Business Network Group is run by Acordia Business Networking and takes place every Wednesday at 9.15am in Weavers Court Business Park, Belfast. It advertises a ‘dynamic agenda’ including individual promotional slots.

Dublin Events

1. Digital Marketing Tips and Strategies

This free event is taking place on the 17th October in Bank of Ireland at Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2. The speaker, Emma Boylan is Public Relations Marketing Psychologist at ‘Outside the Box’. Emma will give tips on how to make your business stand out from the crowd, tailoring your online content to your ideal client, as well as measuring the results of digital marketing.

2. Dublin 2050 – Securing Our Future 

This event takes place on the 21st of September and is open to members of Dublin Chamber. Speakers include; Tony O’Malley, CEO, of Fujitsu Ireland, Michael Gubbins of the Garda Cyber Crime Bureau and Paul C Dwyer, Cyber Risk International.

The speakers will discuss how increased connectivity and dependency of digitalised infrastructure leaves both private and public sectors at risk of cyber attack. The panel will also examine how open Irish society is to cyber attack as well as the steps we can undertake to protect our businesses and citizens.

3. Women in Business Network 

Women in Business is a business network organisation for employed professionals and women business owners. These professionals gather every month over a facilitated lunch to network, collaborate and share business contacts and opportunities with other women. WIB are currently inviting women to attend a lunch to see for themselves what WIB is all about with no pressure to sign up as a member.

4. IIBN Global Conference 2017 Dublin

The Irish International Business Network present their 6th annual Global Conference, ‘Connectivity’ on the 3rd of November with a networking night on the 2nd of November. This event takes place at The Royal College of Physicians, No. 6 Kildare Street. Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2017, the IIBN is recognised as the largest global network of senior Irish business leaders and entrepreneurs.
