How coworking helps to develop strong communities

Office & Culture

One of the most appealing things about coworking is the sense of community people feel when they have someone to work alongside.

Whether you’re working for yourself and enjoy having company during your work day or you have a small number of colleagues and enjoy having other companies to interact with, coworking gives you a way to be part of something bigger than just your own business.

Creating space to meet

From having someone to bounce ideas off, to having access to people who think differently to you and can offer solutions to problems that you’d never dream of, coworking is much more than just the sum of its parts. Here at Glandore, we’ve been in the shared office space world for years and we’re experts at creating opportunities to introduce our members to each other.  We’ve built up member communities in Dublin and Belfast, and most recently in our newest building in Cork city.

Connecting workplaces with local neighbourhoods

We’ve achieved this through a combination of our regular members meetups, our workplace wellness programme, events like our annual Hear From Her series, and being part of community initiatives like Techies for Temple Street, the annual Docklands Volunteer Day, and Enterprise Ireland’s Going for Growth Starting Strong programme. We believe in the power of community both inside our buildings and in the broader neighbourhoods where our coworking hubs are located so we like to make sure that our community involvement isn’t limited to just the events we host ourselves.

Be an active part of your coworking community

One of the best ways to be a part of the community is to make sure that you are getting out and engaging with other local businesses. With that in mind, we’re grown our relationships with companies close to our buildings in Dublin, Cork and Belfast and have created a network of partners and perks to benefit both the local businesses and our members. We’ve created a diverse network of partners; for example, in Dublin, we’ve been lucky to partner with our neighbours the Leeson Beauty Lounge, and Platinum Pilates among others. In Cork we’ve joined with Himalaya Yoga Valley CentreClub Vitae and April Flowers to name a few, and in Belfast we’ve partnered with Better Gym and Orchid Thai Spa. Our members have access to perks with these and many other local businesses close to their buildings. We want our members to feel like they are part of something larger than just a workplace and our ethos of striving for excellence extends outside our buildings with the businesses we chose to partner with. We want to make sure that our members are treated to the same high standards with our partners as they experience here with us.

Get involved with your business community

As well as being part of the local community in a recreational sense, Glandore also has links with business and corporate entities across Dublin, Cork and Belfast.  Being part of our community, be that in a coworking capacity or as someone who has their full-time office with us, means that you are part of our member network and as such, we’ll do our utmost to help you grow your own personal network. We have established relationships with organisations from the IDA and Enterprise Ireland, to Cork Entrepreneurs Network and the Cork Chamber, to Belfast’s Chamber of CommerceInvest NI, and Women In Business NI, and we are always keen to use those connections to help our members, regardless of the city they are based in.

Create inviting spaces

In much the same way that charity begins at home, so too does community. We’ve taken great care with our buildings to make sure that there are plenty of communal areas where people can organically grow their own communities. Our coworking spaces are designed to allow for comfortable movement throughout, and to be an inviting place for members to linger and chat over coffee when the mood takes them.

With people spending so many hours at work it’s more important than ever to make sure that coming to work is an enjoyable experience. We always strive to provide spaces for our members, from individual coworkers to larger teams, that allow for happy and productive workdays.

If you are interested in coworking, looking for your first private office, or setting up a new office in one of our DublinCork or Belfast properties we can work with you to find the best solution for your business.  We look forward to introducing you to our community, and to welcoming you to our members network. Drop us a line here to make the first step in joining our community.
